Police seek witnesses to hit and run pedestrian fatality

West Pacific Region Traffic Services, Terrace RCMP and North District Major Crime (Prince George) are asking for the public’s assistance to solve a hit and run collision involving a pedestrian that took place west of Terrace on November 18, 2018.
On November 18, 2018 a deceased man in his 30’s was discovered in the ditch on the north side of Highway 16, approximately 4 kilometres west of Terrace, BC. The man’s injuries were consistent with having been struck by a vehicle and there was supporting evidence at the scene.
The man has been identified as a resident of Terrace and the investigation thus far revealed that the man was walking east on Highway 16 on the west bound shoulder (facing traffic) and that this collision occurred between the hours of 3:00 and 7:00 AM, Sunday, November 18, 2018.
Police are pursuing a number of very strong leads and investigative avenues and want to speak with anyone who may have been traveling on Highway 16, west of Terrace, between the hours of 3:00 and 7:00 AM, Sunday, November 18, 2018, including anyone with dash camera video. Police also urge the driver responsible for this collision to come forward.
At this time, police are asking anyone who may have seen a large pick-up type vehicle with significant damage to the passenger side and which may be missing the passenger side mirror to call Sgt.
